TAKE YOUR SEAT TOGETHER WITH US: EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF CANADA AND THAILAND AT ICONLUXE GALLERY, ICONSIAM FROM APRIL 1-30, 2022.

BANGKOK, Thailand (March 29, 2022) - It is a special honour for The Embassy of Canada to Thailand and IconSiam to host this year’s Take Your Seat Together photo exhibition at IconLuxe gallery in IconSiam to welcome the upcoming Thai new year festival, Songkran.

Showcasing the authentic and distinctive beauty and similarities of Thailand and Canada, the Take Your Seat Together exhibition includes a series of large-scale photographic images that reflect the remarkable radiance and diversity of human and natural environments in our countries. A red director’s chair invites us to ‘take our seat’ in the images and serves as a symbol of both our joy and of our responsibility to take care of the planet, ourselves and each other.

For this exhibition, the famous red chair returns to its original home in Thailand, where it started its journey with Randy VanDerStarren, lead photographer and founder of the global photographic stories, Take Your Seat, whose global photoshoots and artful narrations are a product of collaboration with his son, Spencer VanDerStarren, photographer and digital director.

As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Canada-Thailand diplomatic relations, this marquee event also celebrates the warm, long-standing partnerships between the peoples of Canada and Thailand. Despite the geographic distance and different climates that separate us, there is much -- in our values, outlook and spirit – that unites the hospitable, determined, resilient and caring peoples of our countries.

We are excited to have Daniel Fraser, our Canadian friend with a Thai heart, as our Master of Ceremonies for the opening ceremony on April 5, 2022. Daniel will introduce the photographers, the red chair and exhibition, and guide you through the opening events.
