Adam McWhirter
CEO
Maxxelli
BACKGROUND

In 2007, Chongqing emerged as the world's fastest-growing city, and it was within this bustling metropolis that Adam found himself managing a local dumpling restaurant. While he didn't have ambitions of building a dumpling empire, he recognized the potential to network in the largest city that few had ever heard of. During those initial months at the restaurant he met his future business partner, a meeting that would pave the way for Adam to establish Maxxelli's second office in Chongqing.
Over the past 16 years, Adam has been diligently laying the foundation for Maxxelli to become China's largest Destination Service Provider. In 2025, the company boasts full-time consultants in 10 cities and a wealth of service experience in over 70 locations. From its humble beginnings, Maxxelli has evolved through a deliberate balance of both Service and Operational Excellence. In January this year, Adam has moved to Bangkok to expand operations throughout Thailand while still supporting the China Operations.
A people-centric approach is the cornerstone of Maxxelli and Adam’s ethos, evidenced by an outstanding 90% staff retention rate. The majority of the company's workforce have been with Maxxelli since 2016 or earlier, showcasing the high engagement and commitment to service that Adam takes immense pride in as an entrepreneur.
Having spent over two decades as a Canadian residing in Asia, with 17 of those years as an entrepreneur, Adam has always adhered to a simple principle: "If I'm happy, I stay; if I'm not happy, I go." Today, he stands as a testament to Maxxelli's success, a fulfillment of his pursuit for happiness in both business and personal endeavors.
